Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai on bringing home the Gold medal in the Trap Mixed Team event at the 2026 Asian Games.

In a social media post, Mr Modi said that the Indian pair created an Asian Record in the Final to secure India’s first-ever Asian Games Gold in this event. Lauding their performance, he said that it is a memorable achievement for Indian shooting.

The Prime Minister also congratulated Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi on winning the Gold Medal in the Women’s Compound Team event at the Asian Games 2026. Mr Modi said that this is even more special because their performance also equalled the World Record. Hailing their performance, the Prime Minister said that this is a tremendous achievement for the Indian archers. Mr Modi extended his wishes to the athletes for their future endeavours.
