Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Men’s Cricket Team on retaining their title at the Asian Games 2026. In a series of social media post, Mr Modi said that this is indeed a joyous occasion for the nation. He also wished the team members well in their future endeavours.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Pranavi Sharath Urs on winning India’s first-ever Gold in Women’s Individual Golf at the Asian Games. Mr Modi said that her superb finish has given the nation a sporting moment to remember. He wished that the victory would draw more young Indians to the game and inspire them to aim for the very top.
Mr Modi also congratulated Kumkum Anil Mohod on becoming the first Indian woman to win Recurve Individual Gold at the 2026 Asian Games. He said that her composure in the decisive shoot-off was particularly outstanding. The Prime Minister wished her for future endeavours, and called her to keep aiming higher.
