Meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, is underway in Bishkek. The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi had a bilateral meeting with President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Bishkek. The two leaders discussed various aspects of bilateral ties. They reviewed recent developments in the West Asia region. Prime Minister reiterated India’s consistent position that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. Prime Minister Modi also underlined the need for continued efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region and for safeguarding freedom of navigation and commerce.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in Bishkek. The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various areas including defence, economic, pharma, science & technology, culture and education. They also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including the situation in West Asia.
The Prime Minister had a warm interaction with members of the Indian community in Kazakhstan’s capital. Mr Modi also paid floral tribute at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial in Bishkek.
Tomorrow, he will address the 26th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Bishkek.
