The Prime Minister said that Veer Savarkar’s intellect and emphasis on social reform are also noteworthy.

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Shah said, the fearless warrior of the freedom struggle, Veer Savarkar, dedicated his entire life to the service of the motherland. He said, from the life and writings of Veer Savarkar, we can learn what unwavering devotion to the nation and ideology truly means.

Mr Shah said, the statement of Veer Savarkar, O Motherland! Life without you is akin to death, reflects the boundless love he held for the nation. He said Veer Savarkar staunchly opposed social evils like untouchability and united the people of the country, and his life will continue to guide people for ages to come.
