The government has refuted a video circulating on social media claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will provide free air conditioners to people through their Aadhaar cards. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified that the video is fake and AI-generated. The Unit said that no such announcement has been made by the Prime Minister. PIB added that citizens should rely only on official sources for information related to the Central Government’s public welfare schemes. It has also urged people not to be misled by such deceptive content and to refrain from forwarding unverified messages.
