The field operations for the Houselisting and Housing Census (HLO) under Phase-I of Census 2027 have commenced today in Himachal Pradesh following the completion of the Self-Enumeration period. The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the house-to-house visits by Enumerators will continue in the state till 15
It added that the Self-Enumeration facility has commenced in Kerala and Nagaland and will remain available till the 30th of this month. The corresponding Houselisting and Housing Census field operations in these States will be conducted from the first of the next month to 30th July. However, in Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Puducherry and Uttar Pradesh, the house-to-house field operations are currently underway.
Meanwhile, Houselisting and Housing Census operations have been successfully completed in Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Jharkhand, along with the area under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. These operations were conducted from 16th May to 14th of this month.
The Ministry said that so far, 23 states and Union territories have completed the first phase of Census 2027. During the Houselisting and Housing Census phase, information relating to housing conditions, household details, amenities available and assets possessed by households is being collected through a structured questionnaire comprising 33 notified questions.
