Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju seeks cooperation of all parties for smooth running of Parliament

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has urged the opposition for smooth conduct of proceedings in the upcoming monsoon session of parliament. Speaking to media, Mr Rijiju appealed to all political parties to contribute and cooperate in ensuring the smooth functioning of this monsoon session.

The minister said Parliament belongs to everyone, and the government will be introducing various legislative businesses and bills. He hoped that all members, from both the opposition and ruling parties, would participate constructively. Mr Rijiju said the more efficiently the parliament functions, the better it is for the country.

He reminded the leaders in the opposition that running the parliament was quite difficult in the past due to constant disruptions. The minister said creating a ruckus serves no purpose, and the public does not appreciate it.

He said the citizens of this country want the parliament to function smoothly. Mr Rijiju said it has been proven time and again that disrupting the parliament yields no political benefits. He said the government is ready to listen to the opposition, and it expects the opposition to listen to the government as well.’The minister said disrupting the House wastes everyone’s time and drains the taxpayers’ money.
