Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that both Houses of Parliament are functioning and legislative business is being carried out despite disruptions by Opposition members. Talking to reporters at Parliament premises, Mr. Rijiju said the Lok Sabha has passed the MSME Bill today. He said discussions have been limited in both the houses due to repeated commotion and slogan-shouting by Congress and other Opposition parties.

The Minister also clarified that there is no proposal for extending the Monsoon Session through a special session at present. On demands by the Opposition for Union Home Minister Amit Shah to speak in the House, Mr. Rijiju said the government decides which Minister will respond to a particular issue, with the approval of the Chair.
