In Haryana, a state-level event marking the 12th International Yoga Day will be held in Panchkula on June 21. A pilot rehearsal was conducted today in preparation for the occasion, featuring participation from Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, employees from various departments, students from schools and colleges, personnel from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as well as local yoga organisations.
During the rehearsal session, participants practised various yoga asanas in accordance with the standard yoga protocol. On this occasion, the Chairman of the Haryana Yoga Commission, Dr Jaideep Arya, said that this year’s state-level event is being organised under the theme “Yog Se Nirog Haryana”. He mentioned that Chief Minister Nayab Singh would attend the main event on International Yoga Day as the chief guest.
Approximately 70 students from 11 countries will also participate in the program. A message regarding nature conservation will be conveyed through the concept of “Green Yoga,” and a grand exhibition will also be organised. He added that the Chief Minister and other dignitaries would plant 11 medicinal saplings on the occasion. He further stated that the Chief Minister would make a historic announcement regarding yoga in Haryana on International Yoga Day.
