In Pakistan, Seven people died and one went missing after a tourist boat capsized in Saifullah Lake in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to the Police, the boat was carrying eight members of a family on a sightseeing trip when it overturned in the Swat district. Rescue teams have recovered seven bodies and are still searching for the missing person.
All the victims were from Pakistan’s Punjab province. Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and recovered seven bodies from the water near the Mahodand area. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has ordered a report and directed officials to take action if any negligence is found.
In a separate incident, 14 children died and several others were injured when the roof of a private tuition academy collapsed in Lahore’s Kahna area on Tuesday. Around 20 people were trapped under the debris, and some injured children remain in critical condition.
Officials and human rights groups have raised concerns over repeated building collapses in Pakistan, blaming poor construction standards and weak safety checks.
