In Pakistan, the death toll from rain-related incidents during the ongoing monsoon spell has risen to nine. According to local media reports, the bodies of two young men were recovered in Landikotal, while four others, including a woman and a child, were found in different areas of Jamrud. In Mardan, two children were killed after the roof of a house collapsed during heavy rain, while another person died in Bajaur, taking the overall death toll to nine. The flash floods and cloudbursts caused widespread damage to roads, bridges, houses, and public infrastructure in several districts. The severe weather also disrupted traffic, electricity supply and communication networks. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expressed grief over the loss of lives and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
