Pakistan remains among the world’s 10 countries facing the worst food crises. According to a report by international humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger, persistent poverty, rising food prices, unemployment, climate-related disasters and declining humanitarian aid have worsened food insecurity in the country.
The report said families are increasingly skipping meals, selling assets and withdrawing children from schools to cope with financial pressures. Globally, around 177 million people face severe food insecurity across the 10 worst-affected countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan and Yemen.
