The enhanced southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones have affected more than 3.8 lakh people across eight regions in the Philippines. According to the Philippine News Agency, 1.1 lakh families were affected, with six deaths and seven injuries reported.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of the Philippines said 86 evacuation centres have been activated, sheltering about 7,300 people. Another 3,700 people are staying outside evacuation centres.

The National Weather Service agency PAGASA warned that the southwest monsoon will continue to bring heavy rain to Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon. It warned of possible flash floods and landslides in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are also expected in the Visayas and parts of Mindanao. PAGASA said Typhoon Dolphin is strengthening the southwest monsoon, with rough to very rough seas expected off extreme Northern Luzon.
