Over 1.7 lakh organisers registered on Yoga Sangam portal for International Day of Yoga

The Union Ministry of Ayush has said that more than 1.7 lakh organisers have registered their events on the Yoga Sangam portal as part of the International Day of Yoga celebrations on the 21st of this month.

The Ministry said the enthusiastic response reflects growing participation by institutions, organisations and communities in promoting the message of yoga across the country.

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav said Yoga Sangam is a celebration of unity through wellness. He said that by enabling people at thousands of locations to practise the Common Yoga Protocol simultaneously, the initiative is fostering national integration, encouraging healthier lifestyles and reaffirming India’s position as the global home of yoga.

Mr Jadhav added that the government aims to ensure that the benefits of yoga reach every section of society.

Yoga Sangam functions as a nationwide event, with partner organisations independently conducting yoga sessions while following the Common Yoga Protocol.

The initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to expand yoga’s reach at the grassroots level and strengthen its role as an accessible and effective tool for wellness.
