The monsoon continues to remain active across Uttarakhand, with the Met Department forecasting heavy rainfall in several districts today. According to the Meteorological Centre in Dehradun, most parts of the state are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. An orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for the districts of Nainital and Bageshwar. Heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag districts. The hilly regions may also experience lightning, intense to very intense spells of rain, and strong winds. The department has advised people to remain alert in vulnerable areas and exercise caution while travelling.
