Orange alert for heatwave issued in five districts of Rajasthan

Amid the continuing spell of extreme heat in Rajasthan, an orange alert for heatwave conditions has been issued today in five districts of the state. Maximum temperatures are expected to cross 46 degrees Celsius in parts of the Jodhpur, Bikaner and Kota divisions, as well as the Shekhawati region.

Most parts of Rajasthan continue to reel under intense heatwave conditions. People are facing severe discomfort during the day, while nights remain unusually warm, offering little relief. Minimum temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius have been recorded in several cities, including Jaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Bikaner and Dausa. Kota recorded the warmest night in the state, with the minimum temperature hovering around 33 degrees Celsius.

In view of the severe heatwave and hot winds, the administration has intensified relief measures. These include sprinkling water on roads, setting up temporary shelters, and ensuring the availability of drinking water at various locations.
