In Texas, one person was killed after a business jet carrying six people crashed and caught fire on a highway in Laredo last night, said authorities.

 

The aircraft, a Cessna Citation Latitude operated by NetJets, crashed on Loop 20 shortly, according to police investigator Jose Baeza. Authorities did not immediately say whether the person who died was onboard the plane or on the ground. No injuries on the ground were reported, though five police officers were hospitalised for smoke inhalation. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
