Odisha is likely to experience widespread rainfall today, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most places. The IMD has issued a Red Warning for Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Mayurbhanj, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places. An Orange Warning has been issued for Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh. The IMD has also forecast very heavy rainfall in parts of Odisha on August 31 and September 1, followed by heavy rain on September 2 and 3.
