For the convenience of rail passengers, Northern Railway has decided to introduce the regular run of Train No. 04688/04687 Badgam-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Badgam Special Express from October 19, 2026. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the AC Chair Car train will operate six days a week, except Sundays, providing an important rail link between Badgam in Kashmir and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. As per the schedule, Train No. 04688 will depart from Badgam at 7:20 AM and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1 PM.
In the return direction, Train No. 04687 will depart from Katra at 1:45 PM and reach Badgam at 8 PM. The train will halt at Srinagar, Awantipora, Anantnag, Qazigund, Banihal, Khari, Sumber, Sangaldan, Sawalkote, Dugga, Bakkal and Reasi en route. The introduction of the regular service is expected to provide greater convenience to passengers travelling between the Kashmir Valley and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, besides strengthening rail connectivity along the route.
