The Northern coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh mainly Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitaramaraju, Parvathipuram Manyam and Srikakulam are witnessing moderate to heavy rainfall since this morning under the influence of cyclonic disturbance in Bay of Bengal. People residing in low lying areas in these districts are being evacuated as the MET department has issued a cyclone warning with likelihood of very heavy rains in the next 24 hours. According to IMD, the cyclone is likely to move nearly northwards towards north Odisha-West Bengal coasts and intensify into a deep depression during next 24 hours and is likely to cross Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Puri and Digha around evening tomorrow.
