North Korean leader Kim Jong Un today visited China and inaugurated a new bridge connecting the two countries, expressing hope for stronger cooperation with Beijing. Kim reached the Chinese border city of Dandong after crossing the newly opened bridge.
He said North Korea was ready to work with China to strengthen their historic friendship and expand practical cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two peoples. Kim’s visit coincides with the anniversary of a key battle involving Chinese forces during the Korean War.
Kim last visited Beijing in September 2025, when he met Chinese President Xi Jinping and attended a military parade alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin.
