NITI Aayog Member and Senior Economist Ramesh Chand has said that India’s agricultural transformation will be a learning point for the global delegation in the upcoming 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE). Addressing the ICAE Curtain Raiser in Delhi today, Mr Chand said that the conference will also be an excellent opportunity for young researchers to learn and network with global experts attending the event. Talking on food security in the country. Mr Chand said that India was able to stabilize food production during the COVID-19 pandemic. Talking to Akashwani News, Mr Chand pointed out the steps taken by India to rectify the methodological fallacies in the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization’s report on food security.
The 32nd International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) will commence on the 2nd of next month in the National Capital Delhi. The six-day event will address several issues including global agricultural and food systems challenges. The theme for ICAE this year is “Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems”.
