NITI Aayog has released a report titled Reimagining Care: Strategies for Empowering Caregivers in Viksit Bharat@2047. The report envisions a comprehensive caregiving ecosystem as a key pillar of inclusive growth and social development while strengthening India’s potential as a global hub for skilled caregiving professionals.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairperson Dr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri said, with the release of the report, NITI Aayog is addressing a strategic imperative that lies at the heart of India’s long-term growth and social cohesion. He said the focus is on caregiving, not medical treatment, adding that care is much more encompassing than treatment.

Representatives of international organisations, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, UN Women, the International Labour Organization and other caregiver organisations were also present.
