The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will organise a six-day Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Executive Capacity Building Programme on human rights for senior-level functionaries of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) of the Global South from tomorrow. 

 

The programme, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, will culminate on the 19th of this month. It will be inaugurated by the Chairperson of NHRC Justice V Ramasubramanian.

 

The NHRC said that the programme aims to strengthen the capacities of participating NHRIs and facilitate the exchange of experiences and good practices, with a view to promoting cooperation in the advancement and protection of human rights in their respective countries. 

 

The customised programme has been developed based on the needs of participating NHRIs and the feedback received during the four previous ITEC capacity-building programmes organised by the Commission.
