The National Highways Authority of India has expressed its deepest condolences to the families of eight college students who tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Thrissur, Keralam, last night. The car carrying the eight students from Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, collided with a parked truck in an area where road construction and traffic diversion works were underway.

NHAI clarified that comprehensive safety measures and warning signage had been installed at the location prior to the incident. Preliminary CCTV footage indicates that the vehicle was travelling at a high speed immediately before the collision, while a truck was illegally parked in the high-speed lane shortly before the impact. NHAI has also extended its full cooperation to support the ongoing inquiry by police and other relevant authorities.
