In the Netherlands, an Indian crew member died while 20 others were injured after a major fire broke out on a cargo vessel off the Dutch coast. According to reports, the ship was carrying nearly three thousand cars. The fire broke out on Tuesday night. The Panama-registered vessel named the Fremantle Highway was en route from Germany to Egypt. It is owned by Japan's Shoei Kisen. The ship owner has confirmed that all 21 crew members were Indians. The Indian Embassy in the Netherlands confirmed that the fire had resulted in the death of an Indian seafarer and injuries to the crew. It said that the embassy was in touch with the family of the deceased. Dutch news agency ANP reported citing the country's coastguard that the fire might last for several days. Smoke continued to billow from the vessel near the northern Dutch island of Ameland.
