The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) of Nepal has urged for taking precautions against cold, citing the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology information about the impending cloudy weather from Friday afternoon.
NDRRMA informed that the cold wave will intensify, resulting in health problems due to the cold. There is a forecast of snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous region, rainfall in various places and cold waves in the Terai region.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in many places of the country from Friday due to the influence of the Westerly low-pressure system.
The Division has forecast light to moderate snowfall in most of the places of the high hilly and mountainous region in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, and at some places in the high hilly and mountainous region in Gandaki, Bagmati and Koshi provinces on Saturday.
