The National e-Governance Division- NeGD, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has partnered with the Association of Australian Education Representatives in India, AAERI, to launch a new digital platform, AAERI Verify. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology informed that platform, integrated with DigiLocker, will enable Indian students applying to Australian universities to securely and digitally verify their academic, identity and financial documents.
Launched in New Delhi, during the AAERI Annual Convention, the platform replaces manual paperwork with a consent-based system that allows universities to access source-verified digital records directly from authorised issuing authorities.
The verification process will be carried out in two stages: Student Check before the university application and Sponsor Check after admission, to verify financial documents. NeGD Director J. L. Gupta said the initiative demonstrates how India’s Digital Public Infrastructure can address global challenges by making the international admission process more secure, paperless and efficient.
