NCB Seizes Drugs Worth ₹43 Crore in Guwahati, Two Traffickers Arrested

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Guwahati Zonal Unit, has seized more than 53 kilograms of methamphetamine and WY tablets, with an estimated illicit market value of around 43 crore rupees. Two drug traffickers were arrested during the operation. According to the NCB, the seized consignment originated in Myanmar. The agency is now working to identify the international suppliers, domestic recipients and other members of the trafficking network. Highlighting the organised and cross-border nature of drug trafficking, the NCB said it continues to strengthen intelligence-sharing and coordinated operations with state police forces, Anti-Narcotics Task Forces, Assam Rifles, the Border Security Force, the Central Reserve Police Force, the Sashastra Seema Bal, Customs, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, the National Investigation Agency, the Enforcement Directorate and other agencies. The NCB reiterated its commitment to tracing every link in the drug supply chain, following the money trail and dismantling organised trafficking syndicates as part of the national resolve to build a Nasha Mukt Bharat – a drug-free India.
