Filmmaker Ravi Raj Murmu from Jadugoda in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, who received the National Film Award for Best Debut Director for his short Santali film ‘Aangen’, was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi today. The award was presented to him by President Droupadi Murmu at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony held in Gujarat. Ravi Raj Murmu dedicated the award to the Santali community and the people of Jharkhand, saying that the achievement would encourage young filmmakers from the state. Filmmakers Biju Toppo and Seral Murmu described the achievement as a moment of pride for Jharkhand and the Santali community and said it would give a boost to the state’s film industry.
