Nagaland: Mon Police bust inter-state drug trafficking network, seize 800 grams heroin

In Nagaland, Mon Police has busted an inter-state drug trafficking network and seized approximately 800 grams of heroin, locally known as ‘Shan Flower,’ in one of its major anti-drug operations. Police said the consignment was being transported from Mon to Sonari in Assam, with plans to further move it to Dimapur. Acting on specific intelligence, Mon Police launched a coordinated operation and arrested three persons allegedly involved in sending the consignment from Mon.
 
Based on their interrogation, a joint operation with Assam’s Charaideo Police led to the arrest of the intended receiver, identified as Md. Taher Hussain, near Sonari. With assistance from Dimapur Police Commissionerate, two women, identified as D. Robila Roziine and Kaili Aye, were subsequently arrested for their alleged involvement as intended recipients of the consignment in Dimapur.
 
Mon Police said the operation, which continued for nearly three days, was conducted under the supervision of the Director General of Police and the Anti-Narcotics Task Forces of Nagaland and Assam, with coordination from Assam Police and Dimapur Police. Further investigation is underway.
