Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav today flagged off four Basic Life Support ambulances and virtually inaugurated an Apple Cider Vinegar processing unit at Thanamir in Kiphire district, located in the eastern most part of the State, bordering Myanmar.
The programme was organised by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in Dimapur.
The ambulances have provided under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of Indian Oil Corporation Limited through financial assistance of 58.08 lakh rupees. They have been allotted to Primary Health Centre Chümoukedima, and Community Health Centres in Dimapur, Niuland and Dhansiripar.
The Processing Unit have been established under the Chief Minister’s Innovative Programme, with a sanctioned amount of 50 lakh rupees.
Addressing the event, Governor Yadav said the ambulances would strengthen emergency medical services, particularly in remote areas.
He added that the processing unit would help farmers add value to their produce, improve incomes and generate livelihood opportunities.
He stressed the need to strengthen market linkages, processing facilities and infrastructure to unlock Nagaland’s agricultural and horticultural potential, particularly in Eastern Nagaland.
The Governor further called for stronger partnerships among the government, public sector organisations and other stakeholders to promote inclusive development.
