On National Sports Day today, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the state celebrates the dedication and perseverance of its sportspersons and recognises the role of sports in promoting fitness, discipline and teamwork. In a post in X, Mr Rio called upon all stakeholders to continue strengthening the state’s sporting ecosystem and inspire a culture of active living, inclusivity and excellence. Meanwhile, in commemoration of National Sports Day 2026, the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, will honour meritorious sportspersons for 2025-26 this morning at a programme to be held in Kohima.
