Naba Jaubana Darshan of Lord Jagannath to be held in Puri today

In Odisha, the sacred ‘Naba Jaubana Darshan’ of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra will be held today at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, marking the first public appearance of the sibling deities after the fortnight-long ‘Anasara’ period.

The deities, believed to have recuperated from their ceremonial illness following ‘Snana Purnima’ will be unveiled in their rejuvenated youthful form before lakhs of devotees expected to gather from across the country. The temple administration, district authorities and police have put in place elaborate security, crowd management and traffic arrangements to ensure a smooth and orderly darshan.

The ‘Naba Jaubana Darshan’ marks the culmination of the pre-Rath Yatra rituals and heralds the commencement of the world-renowned Rath Yatra, which will be celebrated on Thursday, with the ceremonial journey of the Holy Trinity to the Shree Gundicha Temple.
