Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall, IMD issued a red alert for Satara, orange alert sounded in eight districts. Mumbai and its suburban areas witnessed heavy rainfall throughout last night and this morning. Heavy rainfall was also experienced in Pune. A column of Indian Army has been prepositioned at Ekta Nagar area of the city as excess water is being released from Khadakwasla dam.

Extremely heavy rainfall has been lashing Nashik since yesterday. The water storage in Gangapur dam has risen to 84 percent. In Chinchli village, a woman was swept away while trying to cross the river. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a red alert for Satara and an orange alert has been sounded in Mumbai Suburban, Thane, Nashik, Palghar, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sangli.
