Mumbai Police arrests six, including three MPSC officials, in paper leak case

The Mumbai Police have arrested six persons, including three officials of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), in connection with the alleged paper leak in the MPSC Drug Inspector examination. Among those arrested are reportedly an MPSC Under Secretary and a Section Officer. A court has remanded all six accused to police custody until Wednesday.

The MPSC has cancelled the ongoing recruitment process for these positions under the Food and Drug Administration. The Commission has said that a fresh examination will be conducted soon. Candidates who appeared for the cancelled examination will not be required to apply again, and no additional examination fee will be charged.

MLA Rohit Pawar has demanded the resignation of the MPSC Chairman over the incident and warned of launching a protest from Tuesday. He alleged that the case involves a major racket and demanded that the police investigation report into the incident be made public.
