In Keralam, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi inaugurated the Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 campaign in Thiruvananthapuram today.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the Swachhata campaign has been successfully implemented across the country since 2015 through cleanliness drives, plastic waste elimination and various awareness programmes. He said educational institutions have also been included in this year’s campaign to strengthen public participation. The Minister added that the Swachhata Pakhwada programme is being implemented effectively nationwide and would be expanded further in the coming years.
As part of the event, Mr Gopi administered the Swachhata Pledge, distributed saplings and planted a tree under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. The programme was organised at the LCNG facility, DIC Kochuveli, by THINK Gas in association with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
