MoS Shripad Yesso Naik addresses 2nd Bharat Green Hydrogen Summit 2026

Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik today said India is uniquely positioned to emerge as a global leader in the green hydrogen sector.

Addressing the 2nd Bharat Green Hydrogen Summit 2026 in New Delhi, through a video message, he said the National Green Hydrogen Mission is helping to create a strong, future-ready ecosystem for clean energy.

Mr Naik said that the global energy transition has entered a new phase, where the focus is on becoming the leading nation in green hydrogen transformation. He said that green hydrogen in the country is no longer merely a future concept but a fast-growing economic opportunity.

The minister also noted commercial-scale production and the country’s first indigenously developed hydrogen-powered train as examples of India’s growing capabilities. He expressed confidence that the summit will generate new ideas, encourage strategic collaboration and accelerate investments to make Made in India Green Hydrogen a globally trusted symbol of clean energy, technological excellence and sustainable industrial growth.

The 2nd edition of the Bharat Green Hydrogen Summit 2026 will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, public sector enterprises, technology providers, investors, financial institutions, researchers, and international stakeholders to deliberate on the critical interventions required to accelerate India’s green hydrogen ecosystem.

It will hold discussions on translating policy ambitions into commercially viable projects while fostering greater collaboration between government and industry.
