Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, continued his four-day official visit to Lakshadweep today.

 

The Minister participated in a coastal cleanliness programme organised by the Lakshadweep Environment Department at Kavaratti Island. As part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, he planted tree saplings along with students. Adviser Dr Deepak Kumar and other officials accompanied him during the programme.

 

Later, Shri Singh attended a special meeting with the Lakshadweep BJP unit. He held discussions on party activities with BJP President Kasimi Koya and other party members.

 

The Minister also visited coastal areas of Kavaratti Island and interacted with local fishermen.
