Minister for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh today inaugurated a workplace creche and Blood Donation Camp at Kartavya Bhawan in New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said that governance reforms must go beyond simplifying administrative procedures and ensuring transparency to address the practical needs of government employees. He said that providing workplace facilities that enable employees, particularly working parents, to discharge their responsibilities with greater focus is an important step towards more efficient administration and better public service delivery.
Established in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the creche is spread over more than two thousand square feet and has the capacity to accommodate approximately 30-35 children. Of these, 27 have already been enrolled, with the process of filling the remaining slots underway.
The Minister noted that the sixth edition of Special Swachhata Campaign is being advanced through a broader approach to governance that combines efficient utilisation of government office spaces with employee welfare and a more supportive working environment.
Dr Singh informed that over 100 people enrolled for blood donation, reflecting strong participation by central government employees.
