Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma today inaugurated a one-day PIB Vartalap workshop for district and rural journalists in Bhimavaram, organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Vijayawada.
The workshop was held as part of outreach programmes marking 12 years of the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Journalists from across the district participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister highlighted the Centre’s achievements in sectors such as agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, healthcare, education, digital governance and social welfare. He also stressed the role of journalists in spreading accurate information about government schemes and welfare programmes.
Rajya Sabha MP Paka Venkata Satyanarayana spoke on initiatives aimed at farmers’ welfare and rural development, while PIB Director G. Suresh Kumar highlighted the organisation’s role in providing authentic information on government policies and programmes.
The workshop also featured sessions on aquaculture development and concluded with an interactive discussion on Central Government schemes and developmental initiatives.
