MoS Bandi Sanjay Kumar lays foundation stone of CISF Headquarters

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar today highlighted the critical role of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in national development. He said that CISF personnel act as the country’s economic soldiers, securing nation’s growth.
 
The Minister said this while laying the foundation stone of the new Force Headquarters building of the CISF in New Delhi. The Minister lauded CISF’s Project Mann, which actively provides counselling to thousands of personnel and their families to ensure psychological well-being.
 
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi many initiatives have been taken for the welfare of CAPFs, including cashless healthcare facilities through Ayushman CAPF and others.  On the occasion, Mr Kumar also inaugurated and dedicated to the nation multiple infrastructure projects of CISF worth over one hundred thirty crore rupees.
 
During the event, financial assistance of one crore rupees under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme was handed over to the families of deceased CISF personnel. Furthermore, customized motorable wheelchairs were also presented to differently-abled dependent children of Force personnel. 
 
The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the new CISF Headquarters building, being constructed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) at an estimated cost of over 75 crore rupees, will serve as the nerve centre of the Force’s administrative, operational and strategic functions.
