Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, stated that the government is working towards the development of sports in the country, with 4,480 crore rupees allocated to sports in the Union Budget.
The minister inaugurated the 11th All India Police Judo Cluster 2026 sports competitions today at the Gachibowli Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandi Sanjay expressed confidence that India will secure a place among the top 10 sporting nations by 2036. He mentioned that the Modi government has taken several measures for the development of sports.
The minister also appreciated the services of CISF in safeguarding national assets such as airports and major industries. He said that India is preparing to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030.
He added that we are moving forward in a planned manner to ensure India finds a place among the top 5 sporting nations by 2047. Around 36 teams, including those from AP and Telangana, will participate in these judo cluster competitions.
CISF South ADG Padmakar S. Ransipe, NISA Director and IG Harpit Kaur Sohi, S.R. Saravanan and several other senior officials participated in these sports events.
