The mortal remains of the 15 Indian tourists, who were killed in a speedboat accident off Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island, have been brought back home.
The Embassy of India in Vietnam has said in a social media post that mortal remains departed from Ho Chi Minh City by Vietnam Airlines flight and arrived in Mumbai. The Embassy said, the state governments of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu will coordinate the transportation of mortal remains to their final destinations in the respective states.
Expressing sincere gratitude to the Vietnamese authorities and the government, the embassy said their prayers, efforts, and presence provided strength in this extreme hour of profound grief. A speedboat carrying 32 Indian tourists and four local crew members capsized off Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam on Friday, leaving 15 tourists dead. Sixteen survivors have also returned to India, and one tourist remains hospitalised in Vietnam.
