Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that more than 300 special trains will be operated for Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath this year. These are additional trains to the regular more than 800 trains.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Vaishnaw said that he will review the railway preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra to ensure smooth operations and seamless travel for devotees. He said, a temporary arrangement will be made to accommodate 30 thousand passengers at Puri Railway station. Mr. Vaishnaw also informed that the Railways will operate more than 100 special trains during the Onam festival this year.
