The Monsoon session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly will begin tomorrow. It will start with a tribute to the late former Chief Minister and Congress stalwart Oommen Chandy. This will be the first session of the House in more than five decades when Chandy is not a member of the legislative assembly. He had represented Puthuppally constituency in Kottayam district for the past 53 years.
The session will end on 24th of this month. Several important bills including the Prevention of Atrocities Against Health Workers Amendment Bill, Kerala Taxation Amendment Bill, Abkari Amendment Bill, and Kerala Cooperative Society Amendment Bill are scheduled to be taken up during the session.
