Moldova temporarily closed its airspace on Tuesday following a drone incursion, delaying a flight carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Norway.
Government spokesperson Dumitru Ciorici said the airspace was closed to protect aircraft flying over the country, delaying three departures, including Zelenskyy’s flight. The restrictions were later lifted and the plane took off.
Moldovan police said a Russian drone crashed in a sunflower field near a village in Riscani district, triggering four fires. No injuries were reported.
