The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy today organised an event to commemorate World Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day in New Delhi. The event brought together government officials, industry representatives, researchers and experts to discuss the standards and safety measures needed for the use of Hydrogen in India.
The discussions emphasised on the need to establish clear standards for producing, storing, transporting and using Hydrogen, better testing and training to help people work safely with Hydrogen, and closer coordination between government agencies, industry and experts. The event included two panel discussions on Hydrogen standards and safety at Hydrogen facilities. Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government Professor Ajay Kumar Sood was present on the occasion.
