Congratulating citizens across the world for contributing to the historic achievement,  Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav  said the new Guinness World Record reflects the growing global acceptance of Yoga as a way of life and reinforces the collective resolve to make Yoga an integral part of daily living.

Addressing the participants, Mr Jadhav said, yoga has evolved into a global people’s movement with widespread participation across the world. He said the recognition of the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations is a matter of pride for India and reflects the growing acceptance of yoga as a tool for promoting holistic health and well-being.

The Minister highlighted the call for Yoga 365 and urged citizens to make yoga a part of their daily lives rather than limiting it to a single-day observance. He said the initiative would contribute towards building a healthy, empowered and developed India.

Mr Jadhav noted the global online yoga session aims not only to establish a new Guinness World Record through collective participation but also to convey the message that yoga has the power to unite humanity beyond geographical, cultural and linguistic boundaries.

The Minister encouraged young people to adopt yoga as an integral part of their lifestyle and inspire their families and communities to embrace the practice. He also called upon citizens to participate enthusiastically in the International Day of Yoga programmes to be held on June 21 and take forward the resolution of Har Ghar Yoga, Har Din Yoga.

Participants from across India and around the world collectively performed the Common Yoga Protocol under expert guidance from the Habuild team during the live session. The achievement comes as India prepares to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2026 under the theme of Yoga for Healthy Ageing. The main celebration of International Day of Yoga 2026 will be held in Kolkata, West Bengal, on 21st of this month.
