In Men’s Cricket, India remain in a strong position in the second and final Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, despite rain threatening to disrupt the final day’s play. 

 

Sri Lanka’s Sonal Dinusha has brought up his half-century and, along with Keshara Nuwantha, is continuing to resist India’s bowling attack. 

 

The hosts were 229 for six, with a 16-run lead, when play on the fourth day was brought to an early end by rain yesterday. Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored 92 and shared an important partnership with Kamindu Mendis. However, India struck back in the final session, taking three wickets and restricting Sri Lanka’s lead.

 

Earlier, India enforced the follow-on after bowling Sri Lanka out for 290 in their first innings. Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar claimed three wickets each, while Saransh Jain took two. India had declared their first innings at 503, with centuries from Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal. India lead the two-match series 1-0.
